What will I learn in this course?

In this course, you will learn what it means to approach social media marketing strategically. You'll also learn about building communities, working with influencers, creating content that attracts and maintains attention, calculating ROI, leveraging open innovation, and managing social at the organizational level, among other topics. 

This is not a "Social Media 101" course in the sense that you will not learn how to use Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram at a technical level. This is a strategic course, meaning you should come with a basic knowledge of how social media works, but you will learn how to optimize its use strategically for achieving business or personal goals. Some readings provide anthropological, business management, and practitioner perspectives. 

You will also gain access to several video interviews with experts who talk about how they use social media to meet their goals. These include academics, digital media managers, and social media influencers.

Whether you are a business owner, a CMO, a marketing manager, a social media specialist, or are running social media for your own personal groups and projects, this course helps you uncover new perspectives on what it means to use social media marketing strategically. This is the third run of the course; for the first two runs (November 2017 and April 2018), more than 30,000 learners enrolled.
